How does the changelog work?

Is my code safe? What permissions do you need?

Yes, your code is safe. We only request read-only access to your repositories. We read commit messages and file names, never your source code. We can't modify your repo or push changes. Revoke access from GitHub settings anytime.

Can I use my own AI API key?

What happens after I connect GitHub?

Choose which repositories to track. With automation enabled, Makrly checks commits or merged pull requests for customer-facing changes and generates release notes. You can also create social drafts and help articles from the dashboard.

What does Makrly read from GitHub?

Makrly uses commit messages, pull request details, changed-file information, and your repository README for context. GitHub OAuth currently requests repository access that can include write permissions, although Makrly uses it to read changes. Review the GitHub authorization screen before connecting.

Will changelog updates publish automatically?

Only if you enable auto-publishing for that project. Otherwise, generated updates remain drafts for you to review. Routine maintenance can be skipped by the customer-facing change filter. Help Center generation publishes generated articles; review them before sharing your hub.

Does Makrly post to social media for me?

No. Makrly writes social drafts for you to edit, copy, and post yourself.
