How does Makrly generate posts from my commits?

When you push code to GitHub, Makrly reads your commit messages and code changes. Our AI analyzes what you built, filters out mundane commits, and generates engaging social media posts tailored for each platform.

Is my code safe? What permissions do you need?

Yes, your code is safe. We only request read-only access to your repositories. We can't modify your code, create branches, or make any changes. We only read commit messages and diffs to understand what you're building.

Can I use my own AI API key?

Yes! You can bring your own API key from OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, or other providers through OpenRouter. This gives you full control over which AI model generates your posts.

Which platforms are supported?

Currently, Makrly generates posts optimized for X (Twitter), LinkedIn, and Facebook. Each platform gets a different version tailored to its audience and format.

We've added support for alternative plant names to help you find plants more easily, whether you know them by their popular nicknames or regional names.

We're excited to make it easier for you to connect with the plants you care about by adding support for alternative common names. This means that plants can now be identified and searched using the other names they're known by, not just their primary names.

By capturing additional common names from our data sources and updating our plant database, you’ll find it simpler to look up plants even if you know them by less formal or regional names. We’ve also updated our documentation so you know exactly what alternative names are included and how they work.

Seamless updates for existing plants
To ensure the new information is comprehensive, we've populated alternative names across our existing plant entries. This means that your current favorite plants will now also have their other common names available without you needing to do anything special.
