Fairer and clearer accessibility scores

Accessibility scores are now calculated based on unique rule violations instead of counting every affected element, giving you a more balanced and accurate picture of your site's accessibility.

We've improved how accessibility scores are calculated to give you a fairer and more meaningful assessment. Previously, the system counted each individual element that violated the same accessibility rule, which could make your score drop unfairly if many items shared the same issue — like dozens of images missing alt text.

More balanced scoring
Now, each accessibility rule violation is counted just once, no matter how many elements it affects. This change ensures the score reflects the variety and severity of issues rather than being overwhelmed by repeated instances of the same problem. We've also adjusted the weights of different severity levels so critical problems impact the score more noticeably, while smaller issues have a smaller effect.

With these changes, your accessibility score will better represent how accessible your site really is, making it easier to prioritize fixes without being misled by inflated penalties.
