How does Makrly generate posts from my commits?

When you push code to GitHub, Makrly reads your commit messages and code changes. Our AI analyzes what you built, filters out mundane commits, and generates engaging social media posts tailored for each platform.

Is my code safe? What permissions do you need?

Yes, your code is safe. We only request read-only access to your repositories. We can't modify your code, create branches, or make any changes. We only read commit messages and diffs to understand what you're building.

Can I use my own AI API key?

Yes! You can bring your own API key from OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, or other providers through OpenRouter. This gives you full control over which AI model generates your posts.

Which platforms are supported?

Currently, Makrly generates posts optimized for X (Twitter), LinkedIn, and Facebook. Each platform gets a different version tailored to its audience and format.

You’ll now receive a helpful weekly summary of your performance every Monday, plus timely warnings when you’re nearing your usage limits to keep you in control.

We’ve added a new weekly digest email sent every Monday that gives you a clear snapshot of your recent usage and performance. This way, you can easily keep track of how things are going without having to log in constantly.

Helpful usage alerts on your dashboard
To make sure you never get caught off guard, you’ll see gentle warning banners right on your dashboard once your usage reaches 80%, 90%, and 95% of your limits. This visual cue helps you stay aware and plan ahead.

Timely limit warning emails
Beyond the dashboard, you’ll also get email alerts when you approach or exceed your usage thresholds. These notifications are designed to keep you informed during the daily data aggregation process.

We also added an easy switch in settings to turn the weekly digest on or off, so you can choose what works best for you. And to keep things seamless, warning flags reset automatically at the start of each billing period. Finally, our system now runs the weekly digest through a scheduled job, so your updates come reliably every week.
